Would you pay $800 for 1989 Taurus?
I started taking care of an elderly gentleman. To help me get back and forth to his home to care for him, his daughter loaned me her second car.
It’s a 1989 Ford Taurus. Blue Book on the Internet at the highest price is 0.00.
She wants to sell this car to me. She started at 00, then 00 now she’s at 0. She says she wants to get out what she put into it. That entails: new brakes, 4 used tires, a 0 compressor and a new battery.
I’ve been driving this car for 8 months. It gets me where I need to go. It has no air conditioning and where we live it’s sunshine 9 months out of the year, and can get extremely hot during summer.
I need a car, but should I pay this much for this car. It’s in okay condition, but I’m going to be putting money into it as well to bring it up to par. What do you think???

Ive looked at alot of cheap cars in my time, and im glad to say you cant get S#IT for less than 1000 bucks. If i were you, i would take advantage of this deal since you know the history of this car pretty well. If you take your business elsewhere, you might get burned buying something you dont know the history of. I seen this happen lots of times. Offer her 750, and buy the car if she accepts your offer. Or you can wait until she lowers the price again. LOL! If this car lasts a year, you got your moneys worth out of it anyway.
really not worth for $ 800 try to bargain and close near $ 600 else look for the same model.
The choice is yours those things that were fixed are minor. I would have a male look at it and look at the major things. That car has a timer on it. Don’t make that decision on your own that car could cost you more in the long run.. and the car has no a/c where I live we consider that oxygen.
I would only pay 500.. tops.
