Since odler tauri used DIS systems which were powered directly from the charging system perhaps the vehicle is not getting power to the sparks plugs and the popping your hearing is collected fuel in the cylinders. Could be a a bad DIS modual or alternator. Just a guess. Description is to broad. Could be the alternator. That's what it sounds like to me. Check your connections to the battery, alternator and frame. But I need more info to help better.
