Weak alternator or low idle rpm. You may wish to spring for the 130 amp alt that was available for those. That one should put out enough even at idle to handle the load.
it could mean you have a bad fusible link that connects your lgihts to the rest of your car youll have to trace out your wiring and test your fusible links and have your alternator checked to.
I would have your alternator check. It might be getting weak. You could take to any auto parts store and have it checked.
It is possible the Alternator , Because the charging system keeps the battery charged and then runs the rest of the system so there fore have the charging system checked that is more than likely will be the problem, hope this helps. Clean your battery post and make sure they are tight.
It’s pretty common in older cars for the lights to dim at idle, and then brighten up when you put on the gas, reason being is that at idle your alternator isn’t putting out maximum amperage and the lights are pulling power directly from the battery.Something else you may try is cleaning all your grounds and battery connections with an emery board or sandpaper, meaning unbolt them and clean under the connector until it’s shiny metal and clean the connector as well
if it dims when your under breaking than ur alternater is working when its at the right rpm. sounds to me your battery is going out. alternator is working overtime to make up for the battery not keepin a charge.
good luck
