Why do all dash kits I see for a 2000-2003 Ford Taurus have the rear window defrost button on the right?
My Ford Taurus OEM radio panel has the rear window defrost button on the left right above the temperature controls. I want to install an aftermarket radio, so I need a dash kit, but all the dash kits, even the ones specified for my vehicle, seem to have that defrost button on the right. Does anyone know anything about this?

Unless, for some reason, you want to keep your defrost button on the same side, it’s not going to be a problem. There’s more than enough extra length on the factory cables and the after-market harness to re-locate the defrost switch.
