Its NOT in the hose you well have to remove the housing that the hose is connected to to replace the thermostat. Be sure to remove all the old gasket from both sides (housing and motor ) and install a new one. there should be a lip that the thermostat sits in so it well stay centered. be carefully not to let it slip as if it does you can brake the housing it sits in. good luck tim HI
