		<description>Those first two answers are totally wrong. 

You judge for  yourself how close they are. The fan is on the far right side of the HVAC box, under the glovebox area. The heater core is almost directly to the rear of the radio. 

There is no possibility of damage to the core while replacing the blower. It would take a nut to damage it intentionally anyway, they are a pain to replace. 

In spite of SpeedingO&#039;s  off the cuff labor qoutes, the ALLDATA labor manual lists the repair time for the Taurus as 5.9 hours labor with an AC, and  3.8 without an AC. There is an additional charge to evacuate the AC system and recharge it.

I have done this job several times, The entire dash has to be removed from the car, and the evaporator case has to be pulled. 

If you really think your mechanic is capable of damaging your car on purpose to gain extra work (and money), doboth of you a favor----find another! Sounds like trust is gone.</description>

		<description>the core is behind the heater motor..yes, he could have damaged it its made of aluminum..very fragile...cost about 40 bucks or so to replace, and no more then an hours labor...yuo would have smelled antifreeze normally before they start to leak...if you didnt smell it, then I would assume he did soemthing when he fixed it..good luck !</description>

		<description>Yes he could of damaged it!! When putting in the blower motor!! But you would have some antifreeze on the carpet of the passenger side!! Anyways it takes about a hour to a hour and a half to replace!! Good luck!!</description>
