2000 to 2007 will work.

If you are considering pulling from a 2004-2007 vehicle, be advised that there is one difference in the later cars with reference to the in-dash 'seat belt light'. The factory radio has a unique circuit in it tied to the seat belt warning indicator. If that (factory) radio is unplugged, the indicator light on the dash will come on and stay on. That indicator light being on does NOT hamper the operation of the car or the seat belt. If this intimidates you, stay with the 2000-2003.

There are also aftermarket kits available to add exactly what you want, check out eBay:

my vote is 2000-2007 but stay closer to within a few years as sometimes Ford has a habit of changing connectors midstream but it should be those years

Keith-
I did this swap on our 2000 Taurus SE about 5 years ago
utilizing the entire pod from a wrecked 2003 Taurus. It has worked well ever since, and the swap was fairly easy. I've heard that it is the climate control set up that changed in subsequent years. As I recall I even had to make very minor modifications to the A/C controls; So I recommend looking for a unit -years 2002 or 2003. Good luck, Ralph
