		<description>Yep, the federally-mandated emissions warranty covered two components:  The Catalytic converter and the computer (PCM, ECM, whatever you want to call it) 

8 years, or 80,000 miles, whichever came first, starting from the date the car was first put into service when new.   

Your dealer told you correctly, yours was out of warranty.   Sorry.</description>

		<description>we just got rid of our 03 ford taurus...we had the transmission replaced at 35000 miles....they are nothing but a problem and no it shouldnt have been covered under warranty its five years old the warranty is long gone</description>
