It will take some fabrication for the brackets to make it work. Of course you will need to make sure you have enough room for the alternator itself. The answer is yes. You need to replace the alternator with one that is designed to have a higher output. A alternator rebuild shop should be able to help. Also Ford did have a Police package taurus that had a higher output alternator with the 3.8 V6 engine. If you have the 3.8 V6 it will just slip right in where the standard one fits. Have a nice day!
