My husband has a 2002 Ford Taurus which seems to be in perfect working condition. HIs dad for some reason told him he should get the transmission fluid changed someday and of course ran out and made an appt to get it done this week (200 bucks!! Jeesh). Neither of us know anything about cars and maintenance… does this seem necessary to do? Our extended warranty runs out next month and want to get as much done as possible. Thanks for any input!
The brakes on my car are going out. I think I’ve waited as long as I could to change them, but I still don’t have the money to pay a mechanic. My dad usually does my brakes but this is a different car with different kinds of brakes. I’m thinking instructions will help him if he gets confused. Step by step please! Thank you!
My heater in my Ford Taurus 1999 just went out about a month ago. Unfortunately, an artic blast is on its way here (fastly approaching) and I’ve looked at the manual online and searched AutoZone. I’m confused. Does my car require a fuse to "re-ignite" the heater or should I take it to the local Ford dealership where they will try to take ALL OF MY MONEY? Please help . . . it’s getting cold outside!!!
I’ve never had it flushed out because I bought it used. Perhaps I should consider that option. My Dad said that it might just be the fuse . . . I may take it to a smaller shop; however, the shop that I used previously was AMORAL!!!
You guys have given me the greatest answers! It is too difficult to choose! Thank you ALL so much!!!
My parents are willing to sell me their 1996 Ford Taurus pretty cheap (probably under ,000) just to get me through the next year (from my previous posts, you can see how much trouble I've had with my current car and why I need to get rid of it.) The Taurus has 92,000 miles on it, will need 4 new tires in about 3-4,000 miles, but otherwise is in good condition. My dad always keeps up with the maintenance, and had had no major problems with it since he's owned it. He bought it new. I will probably drive it about 20,000 miles in the next year. Whatcha think?
I have a 1997 ford taurus and my driver's door used to unlock if i left the key in the ignition and i locked the doors. My dad was working on my car and was messing with the fuse box. He did something to the driver unlock relay. Could that relay be the problem to why it is not unlocking anymore? Thanks for your answers!
My dad owns a taurus, and well since he doesn’t read manuals, and even email technology scares the hell out of him, he never set the memory key for the seats and stuff for his 1999 Ford Taurus. The funny part is he bought it new like 9 years ago, and i thought i should take it upon myself to do it for him. Thanks friends!
