Is there anything I can do (preferably just some adjustment, or replace something on the cheaper side) to get tighter steering on my 1989 Ford Mustang LX coupe 2.4L 4 cyl?
I would have expected a mustang to be tighter then other cars, but even my moms ford Taurus has tighter steering then mine.
My husband has a 2002 Ford Taurus which seems to be in perfect working condition. HIs dad for some reason told him he should get the transmission fluid changed someday and of course ran out and made an appt to get it done this week (200 bucks!! Jeesh). Neither of us know anything about cars and maintenance… does this seem necessary to do? Our extended warranty runs out next month and want to get as much done as possible. Thanks for any input!
I noticed that running my air conditioner is making my engine run hotter than normal lately. (last 3 weeks) When I turn the ac off, my cars temp goes back to normal. I live in the south where it gets about 100 degrees during the day so not running it is not an option. What could be the cause of it running hot with the ac on?
I just had the new brake pads and had the brakes bleed at Ford less than 10,000 miles ago, I don’t know much about cars, Am I safe to drive it back home? The brakes are working just fine, but It scared me when the chime came on and the low brake fluid level stayed on for what seemed like 2 minutes??
i am installing subs into my 2001 ford taurus. i have all of the wires ran except for the power wire to the amp. how do i run that to the battery? i cannot seem to find where all of the cars wires run through the firewall. does anyone have any idea. if not, where would be the best place to run the wire through the firewall?
Ok, so Im 17 and looking to buy my first car. I found a taurus with 72,000 miles on it. The car has no mechanical problems, only a couple of scratches. The only thing wrong with it is that the heat does not blow out very hot. they have the title on hand. The owner is selling it for ,000 because they do not need 3 cars. It seems like a great deal to me, but then again it sounds too good to be true.
What do you think?
When I drive my car, I can hear my tires or something near them squeaking. I think it’s something with the front ones, when I brake, I hear it slowing down or sometimes even stop. I thought it was something to do with my brakes, but my brakes don’t usually squeak when I use them unless it’s early morning or it’s rained, when it’s really moist. I don’t know a thing about cars, any answer would be appreciated. Thanks!!
And How do I change it, can I just use the normal bulbs for turn signals? Or do I have to buy something different, I normally have no problem finding the son of a gun on any of my other cars, but I cannot find it on the taurus, thanks alot!!
And for the smartA** that answered earlier, I know it is in the trunk, but I can’t seem to find it, I pulled what I thought was the bulb out and it was just wires.
I know the question sounds stupid but it is really legitimate…..I just bought a 2000 Ford Taurus and I assumed it only had a cassette deck when I purchased it. Some how I skipped over seeing the "CD" button next to the tape button. Although there is no CD deck in the actual radio area I hear that it should be equipped with a disk changer. Where in my car can I find this? Or is the button there just in case I would like to install a disk changer? I have no idea about cars so anything would help
um PraiseBob…….if I had an owner’s manual I would have used it……the car is used so they must kept the manual or lost it
PEOPLE I TAKE BACK WHAT I SAID, ANY INFORMATION IS NOT HELPFUL……ONLY HELPFUL INFORMATION WILL BE HELPFUL GET IT (meaning no smart ass comments)
I owned several cars that should qualify me..
a 1983 Dodge ARIES
a 1987 Dodge ARIES
a 1997 Ford TAURUS
I also owned a very astrological-sounding 1970 Ford GALAXIE and I also own a TAURUS .38 caliber revolver
So, will all the horoscope-readers listen to everything I say because of all this ????
Isn’t it weird? 2002 Ford Taurus gets 18mpg city and 25mpg highway. The 2009 Dodge Challenger V6 gets 18mpg city and 25mpg highway. Both are V6 24 valve. But the newer Dodge Engine has variable valve timing to save gas. Why would they get the same gas mileage when they are totally different cars. Remember that the Dodge uses a live rear axle while wastes energy that could have been used to drive the wheels. FWD is more gas efficient. So what gives?
Also how much would the estimated cost be for fixing it…? I am about to take a road trip and having it broken would be an enormous inconvenience… Help would be greatly appreciated!
Also, the fuse is not blown. If that helps… I’m useless with cars. I plugged in a 110 volt inverter into the outlet before it burned out. I think that’s what did it in the first place.
