Replacing a starter on a 2003 Ford Taurus?
Does anyone have any advice on replacing a starter on a 2003 ford taurus? How do you do it? Is it hard?

start with disconect of battery or you will have sparks all over . when taking wires off i use a good wire tie to keep groups together then undo starter then replace.
ITS NOT HARD. JUST KEEP TRACK OF WIRES,SHIMS,AND BOLTS.
3 bolts and its out. Easyist way is to remove it from below. First start off by removing the splash shield from under the front bumper. 3 8mm bolts and 7 5.5mm screws. remove 15mm bolt from behind the starter, its hard to see but youcan feel it. 2 more 15mm bolts(1 below starter , 1 on transmission side) Oh by the way d/c your battery first!!!!!It will make alot easier to remove rear bolt by removing the 13mm, and 10mm solenoid nuts first. Which motor the 3.0 overhead valve just comes right out. the 3.0 DOHC motor is alittle tighter but it will come out with some finesse.
