Replacing a 1995 Ford Taurus Turn Signal Flasher?
Can someone describe in detail where the turn signal flasher is on a 1995 Ford Taurus? I know it's supposed to be above the fuse panel, but what specifically is it mounted to?
Also, I have a big set of cables coming down around the fuse box that isn't plugged into anything. Any idea where that might go?

It is not "really" mounted to anything. It is attached to a strut very near the steering column, way under the dash. As for the cables, no clue. Might be aftermarket add-on's.
Best way is to do this. Go to a parts store and buy one. They are around 5-8 bucks. Look at that, and then look under your dash for the same thing. Most are circular and will be silver. Most cases. Thats how I done it when I started working on cars.
The unit is mounted under the left side of the instrument panel, above the fuse box. It's very cube-shaped, and it attaches to a bracket held in place by one Phillips-headed screw. There is a plug with 4 wires that clips onto the outward-facing side. In this case, it's not circular, or silver. And you didn't hafta buy one to find this out!
The 'extra' wires you see are most probably unused bits of a 'universal' wiring harness. Superfluous on your model, they would be used on different production models, with different option packages, accessories, etc. Some wiring ends in electrical connectors that allow technicians to access your vehicle's computer, they are test ports. So don't go clipping any 'extra' wires.
Good Luck!
