Problems with 1995 Ford Taurus, jumps when shifted into drive or reverse.?
I have an automatic 1995 Ford Taurus and everytime I shift the engine into drive or reverse, the eniter car seems to jump. Additionally, when I lifted the hood and had my friend shift the engine, I noticed that the entire engine would move either forward or backward, depending upon whether the car was being shifted into drive or reverse. Does anyone know what may cause these problems?

When my 1991 Taurus did this I found a weak motor mount check your motor mounts and tranny mounts. Also check rubber bushings on front end, especially up on the core support. Be careful because if your car is jerking so is your motor. One of the problems with this is it can jerk the transmission lines out of your radiator leaving you stranded. I know from experience.
Its an old Taurus…it's gonna do that. What do you expect, a smoothe running 12 year old Taurus?
