There is a low brake fluid message that comes up because mine did today - 2005 ford taurus. It comes across as a message and the brake light comes on.

there isn't a low fluid light its a brake light... which means that something in the system has failed... now yes it will come on if the fluid is low cas that is a failed system...... but as to ur question.....check the fluid and see if its low... and then look around ur wheels for leaking fluid..... and if u don't find a problem either take it back to ford or just drive cautiously

As brakes wear, the brake fluid level will go down to compensate for the wear. Safe to drive. If you use an quick oil change place, they can refill the fluid. If you buy a can & do it yourself, be careful of the fluid, it will damage the paint on your car.
