The 1987 Aerostar has three recalls from 1987 to 1991. 1987-Fuel Line Coupling disengages due to fuel pressure and vibrations, causes fuel loss, possible fire hazard. 1988- If it has the trailer package , the trailer light's relay wiring might be exposed, H2O could cause a short and overheating. 1991- Lift gate gas cylinder may fracture causing the gate to suddenly slam down, could cause serious injury. Also in a car that old and especially a Ford, you'll have to monitor the brakes and the transmission. You’ll want to be cautious.
