I have a 1999 ford Taurus when I start to accelerate from a stop it is like it goes in neutral then hits hard?
Someone told me maybe the speed sensor, also it does’nt do it every time, and when driving the transmission shifts fine. If anyone could help me out I would really be greatful.

your trans is definetly slipping…or your linkage is all jacked up.
check the condition and the level of your auto trans fluid…it should be bright red and on the full mark with the engine running
if its dark brown or black…and smells all burnt up…than your trans is definetly on its way out
flush and fill on the trans maybe?? but once its on its way out theres really nothing to do to save it
sounds like transmission fluid is low.
Yeah, Speed Sensor or Bad (Weak) Pump, Low or burnt Fluid. First Gear is the Hardest Shift for the transmission.
