I had a 76 that could handle a major load, so if it has a 350 cu inch motor you will pull that trailer all down the road with no problem. Once you hook the trailer up just make sure you don't have too much sag on the truck. If it looks like its holding the weight than it is. The tongue weight on that trailer is probably not as much as you think. your 77 Chevy will tow that with no problem.
