   Registration is loosely based upon the price you paid for the car.

   Register and license are the same thing, I assume you mean insure.

   Insurance up there is fairly low, but based on your driving history, lentgh of licensing, tyoe of coverage etc, it may go up.

   Not nearly as much as it will cost to insure it.

   There are two fees for registering a car. Title fee and liscense fee. They are around $90.00 in most of upstate New York but the NYS DMV site has the exact fees.
