While it is possible to tow a heavier vehicle with a light one, it is not really ideal. Much of the trouble comes from trying to brake. A tow dolly might be more appropriate, since a real car trailer weighs awfully close to 2000lbs, with no car on it. Most cars wiegh about 3000 lbs.
