How much can a 1994 Ford Taurus tow?
I’m going to be traveling across country and we plan on possibly driving my 1994 Ford Taurus. I was wondering how much could it tow if I added a hitch to it? Could it possibly take a Uhaul trailer?
From FLorida to San Diego, Ca. So I don't think there will be moutains. At most a large bridge.

2,000 pounds, tops. A U-haul trailer might work, but don’t forget to subtract the weight of the trailer from the 2,000.
Look in your owners manual. It should tell you the permissible tow load. The U-haul people also should be able to advise you.
Don’t forget the trailer that size has no brakes. Be careful that you provide extra stopping distance. Also have a mechanic check your car brakes that they are in good condition. Also. if climbing steep hills stay in the right lane and do not flog it or you can cook your transmission fluid.
Yes, it can tow a small Uhaul trailer. I would limit it to 1,000 pounds of weight, especially if you will be going through mountains. The more weight you pull will put a lot of strain on the engine and transmission.
