How do I take out a 1996 Ford Taurus radio?
I was going to look for an RCA port to see if I could wire subs but unfortunately I have the 96′ taurus, with its egg-console shape which the radio is in. Im pretty sure removing it has something to do with the 4 holes on each corner of the console. THANKS!

The other posters are correct in advising that you need the special two "horseshoe" tools to insert into the four holes to remove the HVAC/audio unit assembly on your Taurus. However, in its absence you can use four suitably sized nails to insert into the four holes to use. Once all four are inserted, push the nails OUTWARD (toward the outside of the vehicle), and pull simultaneously to remove the entire assembly. Hope this helps.
BUY YOURSELF A HAYNES OR CHILTON MANUAL. IF YOU CAN NOT, GO TO THE PUBLIC LIBRARY, AND IT WILL SHOW YOU HOW TO DO IT.
you need a special tool to remove it. part stores sell them .but i can tell you the stock radio wont have rca jacks.
Most later model Fords (94 on) need a special radio "pulling" tool, usually have to get it from a dealer unless you can find one at a local auto repair shop. I have no idea what the cost, just that I found someone who I could borrow one from. The tool goes into the 4 holes or "depressions" on the front of the radio. This releases internal "clips" that hold the radio in place, allowing you to easily pull the radio out.
Yes you are right , However you need two horse shoe looking tools to remove radio I think you can get them at Auto zone , just insert in holes and pull radio out. good luck
P.S. The part you are trying to remove is only the control the radio part is in the trunk , I don’t know if an after market will adapt.
its in the trunk, haha they fooled you, I think its on the drivers side. the crap in the dash is just controls the recievers in the trunk.
Speacial tool, looks like a U shape and you will need 2 of them.
