How do I remove the cv joint in a 1992 Ford Taurus?
Having some trouble figuring this out…I just need to know how to remove the cv joint from a 1992 Taurus, and can't find anything on the internet about this particular car.

Remove wheel, remove brake caliper, remove large nut going through the wheel hub (in the center where the wheel mounts on the car)(it may have a cotter pin through it), remove the bolt that holds the spindle to the lower control arm. You will then need to drive the axle out of the hub. You may need to get an air hammer to do this so not to mess up the threads. Get a large bar and pry down on the control arm to release it from the spindle. Next go under the vehicle and pry the axle shaft from the transmission. Then you can remove the axle shaft assembly. Since you are not very familiar with this I suggest you go to the auto parts store and buy a complete half shaft axle assembly. When you install the axle into the transmission you MUST make sure it snaps in place or you will have lots of problems when you're done. You can tell when it's licked because you won't be able to just pull it out. Then reassemble in the reverse order from disassembly.
Good Luck!! BE SURE TO USE JACK STANDS OR A CAR LIFT!
