How much will it cost if I have it replaced by a mechanic or if I take it to a muffler shop?

I have a 1994 Taurus and I took it to the shop to have them take a look at it–and I did too. Hole in centre pipe–soup can an a clamp saved me $400 and I had some soup for lunch. No guff.
Its easy as they say, IF, you have a lift, an impact wrench, an oxy-actyelene torch. If you don't your going to be laying under the car in the cold busting your knuckles.
See if there is a Vocational High School or some sort of trade school in your area. If there is you can get done there basically labor free, its worth a look.
