I own a 1995 SHO and i love the thing. Its got its problems, but hey, what 1995 car doesn't? Its an amazing car. And of course. The speed. It's my daily driver. So of course I don't go crazy on a daily basis. But when i want to. I could pin that sucker at full throttle or just bellow. and in seconds i'll be at over 130 or so. It does have its problems. The typical Taurus problems. Tranny's having problems. and that's about it. Other than a few dings here and there on the body. Its a very nice looking car. I love my 1995 SHO. and i believe that '95 is the best year to have. Also. The body styling's are one of my main reasons that '95 is my favorite. The second Gen SHO looked the best out of all 3 Gen. Obviously the new 2010 Taurus is the best yet. but hey. I'd say forget about it unless you got some deep pockets.

the 1989 was the best year reason, they had manual Tran. and the engine was built by Yamaha motor co, after a couple of years ford started to build there on 24 valve engine the supision did not change it was built real good after 2 years we started putting automatic in the SHO however we did have problems with trans, the motor was to strong

I loved these cars, wish I had the chance to own one.

SHO models have been adjuncts to the Taurus lineup since the 1989 model in '88. Always niche players, SHOs had their best year in '93, when sales hit nearly 20,000 and accounted for close to 6% of all Taurus sales.

The best model years for the Taurus SHOs were the 1997-1998 model years with the 3.4L 32-valve Yamaha V8. Those were the most powerful version of the SHO.

i was always told that the older v6 versions where faster than the newer v8 models. i would rather have the v6. there is NO point whatsoever in a 3.4 liter v8. you buy a v8 for torque. and it has no torque.
