Does quality/price matter on a starter for a 2001 Ford Taurus?
Need a new starter for 2001 ford taurus SE V6 and Advanced, Oreiley, etc have different price levels. I usually go for the best tires, brakes when it makes a difference, but will it for a starter? And will it make 0 of difference? Bumper wants ~0+core, checker wants ~0+core.

most of the time you will get good ones from advance auto parts,i have had less problems from their starters than any others that i have used, price doesn’t always mean your getting better quality though, you can buy a brand new one and get a bad one from that ,but i have had real good luck from all electrical parts from advance, good luck and happy new years,
I would base my starter purchase on the guarantee - if the starter fails again and leaves you stranded, it won’t matter what the initial cost was if you have to buy another one.
rebuilt cheapo will do fine for a long time.
Are you SURE it is the starter and not a battery or electrical problem ? NEVER replace any part till you KNOW the problem. From the tone of your ?? you are not an experienced mechanic. If you could give some problems you have it might save you a bunch. I would suggest you buy a battery brush and clean the battery terminals and posts before you go any further.
