does anyone know where the fuel filter is located on a 2003 ford taurus?
also, my car ( the 2003 ford taurus) has trouble starting a lot. It will stall out when you start it and sometimes not start at all, you have to pump the gas and then it smells really bad and i loose a lot of gas. could that be the fuel injectors?

This is a critical problem.I have a Taurus,it's a good car,but you really need to do one of two things.
1) Take it to the shop…it will cost less in the long run.
2) Buy yourself a manual (Checker Auto) Get the 'Haynes' book that covers your year model and start reading the FUEL SYSTEM section.
If you have any mechanical aptitude you can fix it.
when your low on gas it is tough to start all new cars, even mine…but it could be a loose clamp on the gas line or even bad spark plugs.Changing your gas filter could be it as well. When you change a gas filter you know the gas is pressurized right….and its gets all over the place so be carefull…
sometimes there are two of them. meaning fuel pumps. one behind the engine, and the other under the car towards the rt rear tire.
clean the fuel injectors sounds like some bad gas or trash in the lines from running empty i believe the fuel pump is in the topof the gas tank take to auto parts have them run a dio. test on it its useualy free
