There are 3 different size engines for the 1994 ford Taurus
3.0L V 6; 3.8L V 6; 3.2L V 6;
And the Windstar was not produced in 1994 it was the Ford Aerostar Looks like the Windstar was not produced til 1995 here is a link to help you out.

I would keep the taurus and upgrade to a1998 or newer windstar with the 3.8 liter engine . the 1994 windstar has a lot of issues.
