does a 1993 ford taurus have locks on the lugnuts?
I have a flat tire. can’t take of one of the lug nuts because they say it has a lock on it. Is that true? do they really have locks?

They don’t have locks. Some owners just put lugnuts on that can only be taken off with a special adapter. It’s usually in the glove compartment. If you can’t find it they can be a bear to get off.
if someone put them on, then, yes. it has one.
it might have one, but it isnt factory.
Yes, the factory had a nut available with the aluminum wheels that required a "key" or the prior owner could have put on aftermarket locks. You might want to search the car. It may be in the glove box or back with the other tire changing equipment.
the factory did,nt put them on. someone put them on. whoever had the car before you. either that or the tire shop had their impact gun set too high and you can,t get them off.
If this car is new to you, look in the glove box or in the trunk where the jack supplies are kept. The funny looking lug nut is your lock key. Look at the lug nut, does it have a disfigured inner lip or outer warbely appearance, like a rounded star? (Not a rounded off stripped outer edge) if it does, you need the lug key.
Yes special ones too.
Another option is to get them off with an air chisel.
Or give them a belt with a hammer in hope to bend
the wheel enough to get them off.
I’m assuming your on the road here ?
