Dashboard lights on 2004 Ford taurus draining battery?
This morning my dashboard lights for "Door ajar" and then later "Parking Brake on" stayed lit even though they were not. I had to restart that car to get them to go away, Finally they did, but after being parked for 8 hours at work, the battery had drained. 2004 Ford Taurus. Any ideas?

Sounds like a ign switch issue, need to get it to a dealer, have it checked for any recalls
If the battery is original, then it’s probably no good. I doubt that two small lights on the dash would have caused a good battery to drain. The dash lights might have remained on from switches that were sticking. It’s not uncommon for the switches in the door latches of certain Fords, like the Ranger to keep the dome light turned on. As for the parking brake light, it may have been the switch, but lubricating the parking brake cable can’t hurt.
