Ford Taurus 2008-2012 Archives
For my sixteenth birthday, my parents are thinking about getting me the 2009 Ford Taurus…and do you think it’s a cute car for a teen? Now let me remind you, it’s the 2009 (because the old ones WERE gross looking)
…I probably will just ask for another car but what are your views on the 2009 Ford Taurus anyways?
Thanks! I’ll choose best answer!
Opinions on which is better all around?
I’ve been going to a couple sites to check out their new cars and have built/customized a couple on the sites. I narrowed down the top couple that I like, but now, I’m having the hardest time choosing! I need some opinions (not biased because of make please). I’m thinking of getting either a 2012 – 2013 Ford Fusion, 2012 – 2013 Ford Taurus, 2012 – 2013 Ford Mustang, 2012 – 2013 Scion TC, 2012 – 2013 Mitsubishi Galant 2012 – 2013 Mitsubishi Eclipse, 2012 – 2013 Dodge Challenger. They all have things that I like about them. And If you could, give me some more ideas on other makes & models? (No Chevys, Kias, or Hondas please)
I don’t want the SHO all I need is a business car so nothing really fancy.
My MIL has an 09 Ford Taurus Limited (which I believe she paid WAY too much for) is having a problem with its back door. If it rains and you open the door after the raining has stopped, water will come gushing out the bottom. It looks like it is almost a liter full (but not sure). It’s quite a bit of water to be coming from the door. She hasn’t done anything about it, but I am curious to see who should be the one to have to solve the problem. Is she suppose to take it back to the dealership and let them look at it (its still under warrenty, but I don’t know what is covered by Ford or the dealership). Or should she have a mechanic, or body man, take a look at it? All of the electrical components work fine in the door. I believe if you pay over ,000 for a car, it shouldn’t have problems like this. P.S.- No water is getting inside the cabin, just inside the door, which makes me believe is is going through the window down into the door.
They paid ,000 for the car. My opinion is if the car is more than -30k, then it should be better quality and not run into a problem like this so soon. I would more expect this problem out of a ,000 lower-end car. But that’s just my personal opinion.
I’ve been car shopping for some time now and need a full size family car or wagon with a good engine and AWD. The three makes and models of car that I am looking at are:
2011 Ford Taurus SEL AWD: http://www.ford.com/cars/taurus/trim/?trim=sel
2011 Subaru Outback 3.6R: http://www.subaru.com/vehicles/outback/index.html
2011 Subaru Legacy 3.6R: http://www.subaru.com/vehicles/legacy/index.html
I would be happy with any of them, and consider that all are about the same price with the same features. I currently own a Ford (2003 Crown Victoria Police Interceptor), but have leased two Subarus in the past (2001 Outback wagon and 2005 Impreza WRX). The main arguments are:
1. All wheel drive system (Subaru is better);
2. Trunk space (Taurus is better)
3. Interior space (Subaru is better), I’m 6’2" 255 ![]()
4. Features (Taurus is better)
5. Engine (Taurus is better a little bit, but Subaru not far off, so draw here)
6. Buying American (Taurus is better)
7. Reliability (Subaru is better).
Alright, so for you folks, with no consideration for American vs. import, what would you get and why?
Over the past week I have noticed that my front passenger side wheel has sort of been grinding when I drive, kind of like it does not want to rotate. It is not happening a lot though just every once on awhile. I have had an oil change in quite awhile so I am wondering if it just needs to be lubed up. It is a ’96 Ford Taurus and please do not tell me how horrible Fords are.

Could be the rotor. I am about due for new brakes.
Which model is best and what do you think it is like in the snow?
I am looking to buy a 2005 Ford Five Hundred. Do you happen to know if it is possible for be to buy an uncut 2008 Ford Taurus FOB key to use on my 05 five Hundred? The reason I want to do this is because I like the FOB that has the key connected to it compared to the key and FOB separated. Is this possible to do?
Hello!
Can someone please tell me how to take off the white aluminum cover (measures approx.18" X 18" rectangular shape) on top of the engine on my 2009 Ford Escape Hybrid?
I would like to see the engine components underneath it. I’m planning to do a tune-up, maybe change the spark plugs when need to. I used to do it on my old 1995 Ford Taurus, but this one is a Hybrid. Thank you so much for your help. I will appreciate it.

I have a 1989 Ford Taurus. When I graduate, which would be in 2012, I planned on having enough money saved up to get a good paint job for my car so its not so embarrasing. Its a light metalic blue and all of the clear coat has come off the roof, almost all of the hood, except for the part where my mom left the bra on for too long and ended up cracking the paint, but its very nice, like still has a clear coat on, and then the whole trunk. and not its starting to creep down the front fenders and around the trunk. I have heard the terror or a Macco paintjob but at that point in time that might be my only option as far as an inexpensive paint job. My mom said something about paying for a painting class at our local college, and then I would just paint my car there, but idk if that will ever happen. So is Macco really as bad as I make it seem. What other car painting places give out decent results for not alot of money. I got a quote to have the whole outside of my car painted, and then where ever there was rust to have it fixed, and then the bumpers, which are a gray on top, the black on the bottom, repainted to match, and to look like it did when it was a brand new car. I kinda plan on over time restoring it. Like I’m gonna have the interior redone, the same blue interior that came with the car. Just recover the seats, in the same blue, and then have the carpets replaced. Also some stock blue floormats, and then have the door pannels redone, or replaced, then all the buttons for the power windows and locks. Anyway, about the paint. Is Macco ok? If not, any other suggestions?
I get into my car, never fails, my seat is way back and I have to adjust that, and my mirrors are all screwed up. Anything I can do? Any save settings?
Just wondering. I have an 05 taurus and as far as I know, all models except the lx has remote keyless entry standard. Might wanna upgrade to the 2010 model. I would think something as simple as this was standard on such a newer car. Is it?
Would you rather a 2004 CTS with 90K miles on it, or a 2009 Ford Taurus with 72k on it?
