It has a computer chip in the key.

The car was wrecked yesterday by my teenage son. No insurance to fix the car. Will cost 200 to have it towed here. Trying to find out if it is even worth the trouble.. Before wreck it was worth around ,500.. Would a salvage yard pay 4 or 5 hundred for it or should I just give it to the towing company for the towing fee? The motor is damaged but everything from the windshield back is unhurt.. 3 of the alloy rims are still OK. The car was loaded so it has many useable parts.

I have a 2004 Ford Taurus and the transmission started slipping recently. Then 3 days ago the Check Transmission light started coming on! Any ideas what it could be and how much its gonna cost…… its a V6 and other then that in great condition. My husband want to trade it in but i only owe a couple more payments on it… is it worth keeping or should i trade it while its still running???

I drive a Taurus http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/46/2004-2007_Ford_Taurus_Sedan.jpg and recently the left side turn signal blinks very fast … blink, blink. blink, blink, blink.

The right side goes blink ….. blink ….. blink ….. blink ….. blink like it should.

The left side is at least 3 times faster than the right side. Any thoughts on this slightly bothersome issue?? Should I change the fuse/fuses?

It’s only done this for a few weeks … it just irks me. (smiling)

i just learned that there’s a difference between flushing it and changing it….i want to flush it…..how do i do that?

I have a 2000 ford Taurus, it’s misfiring and cutting off after tune up. I changed the plugs and wires one by one to make sure I didn’t cross anything up and now it runs worse than before.

What is the number or name of the snap-on-tabs that hold the one piece insulated material that attaches to the underside of the hood? I had to take it off in order to get to the hoses for the Windsheild Wipers. There are about 10 of these tabs that snap onto the underside of the hood. I lost them and have to get them replaced.

i`ve heard, prestone is the best , GTX is the best etc. so what would be the best oil to use for my engine? since i do a lot of traveling.

My 2001 Ford Taurus was blowing out heat fine today, then all of a sudden will not blow out heat or ac. I increased the settings to full blast and nothing. Could you please explain what it could possibly be, and no one say take to a mechanic because…well, i already know that. Just wanted to know what it was so I could estimate the time it would take to fix it.

It was a family member’s car, who passed away a year and a half ago. It’s been sitting on an incline for that long. It doesn’t start, but physically it is perfect and the inside is in great condition, too. The only problem is… I have no idea if anything else is wrong with it. My dumba$$ son decided to take my car for a joyride this morning. He managed to drive into a ditch, kill a mailbox, break the front cover, and bust the radiator (at least that much, probably more). What is an average price range for this type of repair. We live south of Little Rock, AR.
He hit the ditch/mailbox hard enough to push the radiator back, break some of the mounts, and prevent the cooling fan from turning.

My husband has a 2002 Ford Taurus which seems to be in perfect working condition. HIs dad for some reason told him he should get the transmission fluid changed someday and of course ran out and made an appt to get it done this week (200 bucks!! Jeesh). Neither of us know anything about cars and maintenance… does this seem necessary to do? Our extended warranty runs out next month and want to get as much done as possible. Thanks for any input!
