I recently rear ended an old lady (my bad >.<) and my car had no damage luckily, and the lady and cop were both straight as hell, but I do owe her a new bumper. How much should it cost to get a new bumper for a 1988 Ford Taurus? And if its not the right color, how much should new paint for the bumper be?
When i accelerate it jolts really bad and sometimes i step on the gas and it doesnt accelerate. The Other issue is when i have been running it for a while it begins to putt-putt and then it turns off i think it might have something to do with the oxygen somethine or another but would someone give me something to head in the right direction please…
When I turn them off they stop, pointing straight up. They they cycle through and then stop pointing straight up instead of properly where they used to lay below the windshield. Does anyone have a clue what may cause this?
What I meant in the details is they work properly through the various delay speeds but when I turn them off the wiper arms point straight up and stop. Everything else functions OK.
is there another car out there that has about the same length headlights ad tail lights like a 1988 ford taurus? and could i put them on it?
i want to put different headlight assembleys on my 88 taurus because i am completely modifying this car because its not something you see everyday so is there another vehicle out the with the same length headlights that i can put on my taurus?
We had a red one…had tranny problems at 28,000mi…other nuisance things, like when it rained, the car would flood….motor mounts, what else…but I still loved and miss that car..it was a tank!

I have a 1988 ford taurus (yes, ancient.) It only has 66,000 miles on it and the mechanic told me it was in the best shape he’d ever seen a car it’s age in. It was one of my relatives and they left it to me when they went to get a new car. I LIKE this car, but I’m looking to make myself LOVE the car. I’m not a racer by any means, but I do enjoy opening up the throttle on the highway whenever possible. I’ve seen loads of turbochargers that fit on it but most are rather… Weak looking. I’m also looking for this to be more of a low key job. Not trying to attract attention to my car.
Current things COMPLETELY out of the question:
-New car
-New engine
-New transmission
-HUGE objects that make it retardedly obvious that I have a custom car
-Removing a muffler or making the car louder than most others stock cars
-Anything over 1000 dollars a piece
-Nitrous (No. Just no…)
-Anything else illegal
I only limited the price to 1000 because I wanted to see what I’d be able to do at this very moment. I can wait a little longer and get more money to pay for more expensive things for it, but this question was just to see what I could do at the moment.
I had a 1989 Mercury Sable, which is the same thing as the 1989 Ford Taurus, and I’m wondering if the brakes on the back are interchangeable between the two.

when driving the back passenger wheel wabbles
i have very crappy instructions on how to replace the axel in the manual. but i have better instructions to replace halfshaft on autozone… the parts store only has the axel. maybe i can find the cv halfshaft somewhere?
I believe the size for the 1989 is P205/70R14. But I’m not sure. Someone please help. Answer needed ASAP!
when i start the car it runs for about two to three minutes, as soon as it heats up then the car just stops going almost like it doesn’t have a tranny in it i think its something to do with the pump that makes the tranny change gears can anyone help i have already tried checking the cooling system rad., lines, pump, the tranny is not low on tranny fluid ect. it is something to do with the tranny im sure of that
my radiator when running does not flow right the hose however is not as hard as it should be
