the first is motor mounts and a transmission for a 1991 Ford Taurus and the second is a complete door kit with power locks and windows for a 1993 Ford F150

Is there anything I can do (preferably just some adjustment, or replace something on the cheaper side) to get tighter steering on my 1989 Ford Mustang LX coupe 2.4L 4 cyl?
I would have expected a mustang to be tighter then other cars, but even my moms ford Taurus has tighter steering then mine.
I recently constructed a still to make ethanol or moonshine out of things like apples and pairs and other fruits. I have a 1986 Dodge ram, a 1983 Dodge ram, a 1994 Ford Taurus. I was wondering what would happen if I just put the ethanol I make from my still in the gas tank without any modifications to my three engines. I understand fuel mileage will go down but what type of engine issues would it cause and WHY would it cause them? I plan on keeping some gas in both vehicles but I am going to be very heavy on alcohol from this point on. There will reach a point were all I have is ethanolto put in my tank and there willbe no gas and it wil be 100 proof. What will it do at that proof and would any unusual smells come from the car? I need educated answers from people who KNOW what they are talking about and have done this before.
So I an only have 20 percent of the content in my engine ethanol? Does the gasoline in my tank notcut down on the amount of ethanol damage? I am trying to save a good amount of money on fuel here.. Whats the most ethanol I can put in w/o damage?
My first car was at 17 ( bought myself) it was a 1989 Ford Taurus Gray Primer, no heat or air, windshield wipers didn’t really work, had to hold the antenna to get a radio signal, no front bumper. It was a POS!
was driving a 1991 ford taurus with only 22,000 miles on it which had been sitting for about a year. after 800 miles noticed a burnt rubber smell and trail of transmissio fluid behind car. could this be a simple thing like the pan gasket or is it more likely a major failure
hi, i wanted to know what was the best year for the Ford Taurus SHO. I read that the 1989 model was the fastest, but i also read that the older ones werent that well built. i read that the chasis wasn’t stiff enough and stuff like that. thats why i want to know which year was the best one all around.
1991 Taurus has reverse and first.I heard there are shorts that develop in the sensor wiring harnesses, and that the wiring connecter plug to the shift cyliniods can have the insulation melt by engine heat, thereby causing a bad signal going to the computer.
I have a Ford Taurus 1989. It still runs (I still drive it) and it has 163,xxx miles on it. It has outside blemishes (not eye sore blemishes) but it is still old. I would like to sell this car for parts, or at least to someone who needs a bucket to get around. I live in Washington DC, what would be a good way to get my car sold for parts? or Sold period? Anyone know of any good places.
Thanks
I’m thinking of towing a boat and trailer that was 1100 pounds, with a 1991 ford tauras. I’ll be towing it 800 miles (down I5 from Seattle to San Francisco. There will be four passages in the car weighing around 720 pounds and around 250 pounds of luggage in the trunk. Will a ford Taurus with a 3.0 L Vulcan motor be able to handle this load?
For 00, which would you prefer?
Both have around 200,000mi and would be beater cars to keep my primary car off the road. The Benz is real clean, automatic, rwd, leather, sunroof, etc. The SHO is also clean, automatic, sunroof, leather, but is fwd and has a bigger motor (not as good gas mileage). The SHO is also rarer. Less than 5000 1996 SHOs were made.
I think the Benz is better looking, too. The styling isn’t modern, but it isn’t outdated, either.
Just looking for some feedback.
Thanks for advice anyone?
I bought a 1988 ford taurus wagon yesterday, and while driving it today, it ceased to go forward. It will now only go in reverse! Is it possible that the transmission isn’t blown, or is this it?? It was slipping a little right before it happened. Any suggestions, or know where to get a good, low priced used transmission??
I keep the car running by adding water and coolant, but oftentimes the plastic tank becomes full. The car (1989 Ford Taurus GL) is beginning to have a knocking sound on the passenger side. There is some kind of fluid (condensed water maybe?) coming not from the tailpipe, but somewhere before it gets to that point. Could the problem be the thermostat? I want to know how I can fix the problem myself. Help!
