If you can read and fololw instructions (you can), -- after all it had to be assembled before, - it isn't all epoxied or riveted together! You just have to work around the "wonders of modern technology".

If you can't figure it out,- go get a "Haynes Auto Repair" manual thart covers your year and model! It will have a section in there that tells you how to get the trim panel off and the radio out! This is a very useful book, as it tells you how to check, repair, - or replace just about everything on your car! If you have your repair work done anywhere other than the "dealers" repair shop, you mechanic will appreciate it too!

If you are going to try and get a "used" one on ebay or something, - it is a "plug and play installation..... But if you are putting in an aftermarket unit, see if it has a "loom adapter" so it will fit without tearing out wires etc to get everything hooked up to new unit! Places like WalMart and a lot of the "radio stores" have them available, - and it sure makes installation a whole lot easier!

The radio "died" in my Neon, I picked up a used one for less than $16 delivered (on ebay), and it plays just fine! Of course I avoid cd players and cassetes, as they are something else to break! I would buy a "mini transmitter" and plug into whatever I wanted to listen to,- and then play cd player or walkman through the radio, - you can use that unit elsewhere outside of the car then (also)! Most of the transmitters that will do this run bertween $20-30, -- this is cheaper than a whole new dash unit, and a whole lot easier too! CD players don't seem to have a real long life expentency, so when it dies, you just buy another cheap one and continue on!l

You should be able to buy an adapter plate that will allow you to mount a aftermarket receiver. After market receivers are single din. A lot of the factory stereos are 1.5 to double din mounts. You will need to remove the console to get to the radio, and there will be a mount of the stereo. Remove the stereo, buy the mounting kit, and the wiring harness will make life so much easier.

Good luck!!
