Are 1994 Ford Taurus cars’ rear wheels supposed to be alligned once in awhile?
I notice a feathered tire-wear pattern on the rear wheels and I wonder whether or not the car should have a 4-wheel allignment once in awhile, or whether only the front wheels are able to be alligned. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

Unlike the other poster, a 1994 has alignment cams and needs to be aligned… the feathering is probable camber or Toe problem…. Unless the customer asks for it, all cars that are front wheel drive get a 4 wheel alignment as it’s the only way to make the car drive right
I have a ford taurus and just got a front wheel alignment on my car they checked the back for me but said that it was not out of alignment I would ask around and see what they say. Now I do know that my tires were really bad I had the orginals on the car and they had dry rot. I would be careful with the feathering and check to see if you need new tires hope this helps.
The rear wheels on a front wheel drive car don’t get out of alignment. They get out of balance, but that is about it.
Yes! You are right on the money correlating feathered tires with an alignment issue. New tires will ONLY be a Band-Aid fix.
For all you nay sayers: if it isn’t an issue, why are four wheel alignments available!?!
