my 1995 ford taurus has a intermitting engine knock when at idle and loses power when driving.also the heat stopped working it blows real cold now.the temp gauge read highwhen this first started,could someone tell me what the problem is .it has a 3.0

My first car was at 17 ( bought myself) it was a 1989 Ford Taurus Gray Primer, no heat or air, windshield wipers didn’t really work, had to hold the antenna to get a radio signal, no front bumper. It was a POS!

My 2001 Ford Taurus was blowing out heat fine today, then all of a sudden will not blow out heat or ac. I increased the settings to full blast and nothing. Could you please explain what it could possibly be, and no one say take to a mechanic because…well, i already know that. was driving a 1991 ford taurus with only 22,000 miles on it which had been sitting for about a year. after 800 miles noticed a burnt rubber smell and trail of transmissio fluid behind car. could this be a simple thing like the pan gasket or is it more likely a major failure

It was a family member’s car, who passed away a year and a half ago. It’s been sitting on an incline for that long. It doesn’t start, but physically it is perfect and the inside is in great condition, too. The only problem is… I have no idea if anything else is wrong with it. It used to be perfect before it sat there for so long. Does anyone know what price I could/should charge for it? I appreciate it. Thank you.

I own a 1994 Ford Explorer and a 1996 Ford Taurus. I know that both have been by recalled by Ford. Ford has recalled them because of the faulty Instruments cruise control. So what do I do to respond to the recall?
Also I didn’t receive a letter from Ford about the recall. If they did send them out I didn’t get one from I moved last month.

My dumba$$ son decided to take my car for a joyride this morning. He managed to drive into a ditch, kill a mailbox, break the front cover, and bust the radiator (at least that much, probably more). What is an average price range for this type of repair. We live south of Little Rock, AR.
He hit the ditch/mailbox hard enough to push the radiator back, break some of the mounts, and prevent the cooling fan from turning.

I read that the 1989 model was the fastest, but i also read that the older ones werent that well built. i read that the chasis wasn’t stiff enough and stuff like that. thats why i want to know which year was the best one all around.

My husband has a 2002 Ford Taurus which seems to be in perfect working condition. HIs dad for some reason told him he should get the transmission fluid changed someday and of course ran out and made an appt to get it done this week (200 bucks!! Jeesh). Neither of us know anything about cars and maintenance… does this seem necessary to do? Our extended warranty runs out next month and want to get as much done as possible. Thanks for any input!
