I took my car to the Ford dealership yesterday to replace the tie rods and front breaks. While he was under there he noticed that the struts were shot, but that I could wait on them for a while if I wanted. My question is (and what I forgot to ask him since I was already concentrating on that big 0 bill) how long can my car go on bad struts.

I have a 1988 Ford Taurus (only 37,000 miles) with the original suspension, so it’s not surprising that it’s finally warn out, but I’d like to put it off for a little bit.

Thanks.

Where to put freon on 2000 ford taurus ?

The thing is, the tracer has 150,000 miles and the Taurus has 130,000 miles. Which one would be a better buy, both are around 00. Any suggestions?

I lost my instructions and I can’t find a website with free instructions. Help

I started taking care of an elderly gentleman. To help me get back and forth to his home to care for him, his daughter loaned me her second car.

It’s a 1989 Ford Taurus. Blue Book on the Internet at the highest price is 0.00.

She wants to sell this car to me. She started at 00, then 00 now she’s at 0. She says she wants to get out what she put into it. That entails: new brakes, 4 used tires, a 0 compressor and a new battery.

I’ve been driving this car for 8 months. It gets me where I need to go. It has no air conditioning and where we live it’s sunshine 9 months out of the year, and can get extremely hot during summer.

I need a car, but should I pay this much for this car. It’s in okay condition, but I’m going to be putting money into it as well to bring it up to par. What do you think???

Thanks for the opinion john, however, this is yahoo ANSWERS not yahoo opinions. Thanks though.

my ford taurus wont start and idle unless i hold the gas pedal. does anyone know what this means? also i need to know how to get the trouble codes from the car?

I’m 16 and own a 1991 ford taurus that stoped running a few days ago. Some old gas got suck into the carbourator, I know how to put gas in carborators, only one proublem, how in the hell do I get to it? It has a Jappiness engine and I have to open it so I can get to the damn thing. So, does anyone know how to get to a carborater on a 1991 ford taurus< or should I even bother.

I had my transmission flushed about two months ago. Since then my car runs at higher RPM’s at 70 mph (about 2600 RPM) and my mileage is down almost three mpg.

Could you describe in a little more detail where the flasher is? When you say above the fuse panel, what specifically should it be mounted to?

Also, I have a big set of cables coming down around the fuse box that isn’t plugged into anything. Any idea where that might go?

I want to pull a pop-up tent trailer that weighs 1,560 pounds.

Hi guys,
I have a 1999 Ford Taurus. When I turn right the steering is normal but when I turn left the steering wheel is too hard…almost impossible to turn. I check the fluid and is OK. Does anybody know whats wrong with my car?
Thanks!

There are fasteners behind the light I don’t know how to get off.
Do I need a special tool?
