Every time it rains. the front bulb shorts out b/x water gets into the light. We have replaced the bulb several times, but it keeps happening. We need to take the whole light assembly out. The manuals do not show how to do this.

Here are the common problems:
leak between the MAF and the throttle body;
leak in the PCV system, especially the hose elbow;
leaking intake manifold gaskets;
any other vacuum leak;
"lazy" oxygen sensors (the front ones).
Is this what these’s code’s mean?
Thanks

can a bad abs pump in a ford taurus 2002 cause a popping spring sound in when pressure is applied to the brakes?

it starts ok but when pushing the gas at the begining it runs 20mhp then I can run fast after 10 second.

When I bought the car it was over heating. The service engine light was on and cylinder 1 was miss fireing. I had did everything else so I put some block sealer in the coolent and it has ran hot or cut out since. So it was a head gasket but I’m wondering if the sealer might have clogged up the heater core. What are some other things to check or to do before I replace it or how do I know if it is the heater core?
And I have alredy changed the thermostat twice.

I notice a feathered tire-wear pattern on the rear wheels and I wonder whether or not the car should have a 4-wheel allignment once in awhile, or whether only the front wheels are able to be alligned. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

I’m thinking of towing a boat and trailer that was 1100 pounds, with a 1991 ford tauras. I’ll be towing it 800 miles (down I5 from Seattle to San Francisco. There will be four passages in the car weighing around 720 pounds and around 250 pounds of luggage in the trunk. Will a ford Taurus with a 3.0 L Vulcan motor be able to handle this load?

I want to do a little work on my own for my 2007 Ford Taurus SE. I’ve looked everywhere for a Chilton (or similar) guide that illustrates most parts of the car and describes how to perform several fixes/maintenance. The only Taurus guide I can find goes up to 2005 or earlier. Where can I find a guide (either paper or digital) like this for my model year?

I drove a 1993 ford taurus today and whenever I turned the steering wheel right or left, there was an oscillating of the steering wheel. The car turned just fine but the steering wheel would move right to left to right to left….and so on in an oscillating manner.

If this is a simple PS pump problem then I may make a very low offer for the car. Other than the steering issue, the car is in excellent shape. The driving I did was about 18 miles to a wholesale auto auction and as an employee of the auction, I can bid on it.

This morning my dashboard lights for "Door ajar" and then later "Parking Brake on" stayed lit even though they were not. I had to restart that car to get them to go away, Finally they did, but after being parked for 8 hours at work, the battery had drained. 2004 Ford Taurus. Any ideas?

For 00, which would you prefer?
Both have around 200,000mi and would be beater cars to keep my primary car off the road. The Benz is real clean, automatic, rwd, leather, sunroof, etc. The SHO is also clean, automatic, sunroof, leather, but is fwd and has a bigger motor (not as good gas mileage). The SHO is also rarer. Less than 5000 1996 SHOs were made.

I think the Benz is better looking, too. The styling isn’t modern, but it isn’t outdated, either.

Just looking for some feedback.

I need to change the rear brakes on my Taurus and i want to know if anyone has a manual or any steps that i can do to take everything off and to change my brakes.

I need to know if any of the 90 years alternators will fit my 01 taurus.
it’s an ohv and clocking can be changed

I have a 2000 Taurus doc. and when it idle’s it will die, when i first start it up it idle’s at about 1100 for about 20seconds then drops below 1000, then it will die, it has died on me while sitting at a stop light a few times now, i have replaced the fuel filter thinking it will fix it but it did not do much. does anyone know whats going on?

Thanks for advice anyone?

I bought a 1988 ford taurus wagon yesterday, and while driving it today, it ceased to go forward. It will now only go in reverse! Is it possible that the transmission isn’t blown, or is this it?? It was slipping a little right before it happened. Any suggestions, or know where to get a good, low priced used transmission??

i replace the battery and the light on the remote comes on but it will not unlock anything on the car. What could be the problem? Is there a such thing as reseting the remote.

If not what size do I need for my Ford?
cold cranking amps on the ford are 540 and on the van 600. looks like the van battery would fit but not sure if the difference in cca is gonna matter or not.

I change the fuel pump and filter , spark plugs and wires and it still want start
