I did check the engine oil and it’s good. What do you suggest is the problem and how can I solve it immediately. I have an important trip to attend tomorrow and don’t want to catch problems on the road.

In answer to the reply I got about having the ford taurus for 5 years, and feel lucky it ran that long . I have had the car since it was new 13 years ago. This is the only major problem out of warranty that I have encountered with it. I neglected to say that when it stalls out, there is a strong gas smell from under the hood.

checked speedometer cable and it was fine. And the vehicles speed sensor also seems fine. And the speedometer its self seems to work fine. But when driving it reads 0mph until you reach about 35 mph. please help i am stuck!

Please…I need your help. I took my 2006 Ford Taurus to the Ford dealership and they said nothing is wrong with it, even though they can hear and feel a clunk in reverse and in drive. The problem is when I leave every morning, I have to make a 3 point turn (U-turn). So I turn the steering wheel to turn around and can’t make it. So I stop when I’m near the curb and place the car in reverse then back up and then it clunks. As I back up enough to make the 3 point turn (U-turn) I place it in drive and drive away when it clunks again. The clunk feels like it’s coming from the front end of the car. What the heck is it???? PLEASE someone help me. My waranty is almost up.

BTW: The Ford dealership has checked the struts, motor mounts, and the transmission twice. They said, I just have to live with it.

Cannot get the drivers side window up. Need additional instructions on how to change out the window lift motor.

I have a 1993 Ford Taurus 3.0. It will not start, it turns over fine. I checked my spark and was getting no spark to any of my plugs. I then removed my distributor cap, and the distributor does not turn with the engine is turning over. Timing chain??? Does this sound right, also do I need to pull the whole motor? Thanks for any help or advice.

My trunk is locked shut. The electronic lock won’t open it and neither will the key. Is there a secret release somewhere or is there a way to take out the back seat?

My mom has a 1987 Ford Taurus, lately its been giving her a problem with overheating. The engine overheats until the heater in the car is turning on then it’ll draw off heat off the engine somewhat, but if it still stands at a light too long it’ll begin to run hot (or sit long anywhere for that matter.) Once we start riding, it’ll get cool again unless its 3/4th’s of the way up to the "H" then it’ll sort of cool off once riding, but it’ll go slowly… what is wrong with this car?

P.S. Sorry I’m having so much damn car troubles.
