I have absolutely no idea whatsoever what the code is on the door of my 2003 ford taurus. Is there any way to reset it?

The car hasn’t run for 2 years now (not by our [my finace and I] choosing, my parents own it now and they don’t make good decisions). When we owned it in Flagstaff, AZ it would overheat whenever we went slower than 15 miles an hour or were stopped for an extended period of time. We would put coolant and water in the radiator and wait for it to cool. We had the thermostat changed, but the problem still occurred. We eventually determined that the fan was out, because we could drive long distances with no problem. We dealt for a while, and then gave it to my parents, in Phoenix. One day my mom was driving it and it overheated more often than usual. The last time it overheated, water came out the tail pipe. After that it never started again.
I will take it to a mechanic if it is plausible that the problem is fixable for less than the cost of the car. Any help or opinions please?
I have a Ford Taurus 2008 Sel, 41K miles on it.
When it is in the parking or braking mode, the engine’s RPM fluctuate between 0.5 – 0.7 (500 – 700 RPM). Cold start RPM is about 1500.
Is the fluctuation within the normal range? The fluctuation stops when I drive it.

I think it's pretty good. your thoughts?
i've posted a question on here before, about how our 1988 ford taurus dies everytime we stop at stop signs or red lights. or if we're in a parking lot, and we hit reverse to back out, it will die then too. but it WILL drive fine on freeways, side streets, etc. it only cuts out and dies when in reverse, or at a stop while in drive. its an automatic. i replaced the brake booster, and the problem is still there. i've looked for a vacuum leak, but can't seem to find a leak anywhere.. i'm getting very aggravated at this. can anyone help me?
Can anyone tell me how to change the shifter cable in a 2000 Ford Taurus column shift?
When I apply the brakes in my 1997 Ford Taurus, the headlights and interior (console lights included) dim.
alt and battery are good
I bought a used Ford Taurus (2004) It came with an attachment to the key ring. It is this little remote that you have to put at the ignition before you can start the car. I don't see how a battery can be replaced and don't know how I would get a second one?
What do I do.
it seems to be an anti theft device
2001 ford taurus brake lights are on even when the car is parked and not in use. caused the battery to go dead this morning. is there a switch somewhere in the car that can be turned off? also where is the fuse box in the car?

In the back on the trunk module, it has the tail/reverse light covers. It is a long piece of black plastic, it spans across the length of the trunk itself. I want to know what it is called so I can price one out. This is for a 1998 Ford Taurus SE. (Sedan)
I have an 86 Oldsmobile in my yard that I want to work on. Problem is that it has a blown head gasket, no fan, rusted cylinder’s, and a busted window. My mom gave me her 1991 ford taurus, all it needs is a heater core and a new front suspension, other than that I got it running good. So should I still try and get the Oldsmobile running or stick with the taurus.
P.S. I am only 15 so I don’t have much money.
I got since one week a 2005 Ford Taurus. When i start my engine the rpm idles very high. When i try to put the rear gear then it shifts very hard into it with a noise. After the engine gets hot everything works fine in the tranny its just when i coldstart the engine.
I have an automatic 1995 Ford Taurus and everytime I shift the engine into drive or reverse, the eniter car seems to jump. Additionally, when I lifted the hood and had my friend shift the engine, I noticed that the entire engine would move either forward or backward, depending upon whether the car was being shifted into drive or reverse. Does anyone know what may cause these problems?
My parents are willing to sell me their 1996 Ford Taurus pretty cheap (probably under ,000) just to get me through the next year (from my previous posts, you can see how much trouble I've had with my current car and why I need to get rid of it.) The Taurus has 92,000 miles on it, will need 4 new tires in about 3-4,000 miles, but otherwise is in good condition. My dad always keeps up with the maintenance, and had had no major problems with it since he's owned it. He bought it new. I will probably drive it about 20,000 miles in the next year. Whatcha think?
I own a 1994 Ford Taurus Wagon and looking to upgrade to a Windstar… Does the 94' Taurus and 94' Windstar share the same engine? If so I was going to keep my Taurus for spear engine parts…
My tail lights work, but they stopped blinking. How do I fix this problem.can I fix it or should I take it to the shop?
i went to get my 1988 ford taurus smogged, it passed emissions just fine, but it failed the visual inspection because the guy at the smog place said he couldn't find the "AIV" which im guessing is the "air injection valve?" because on the final spread sheet next to "Air injection" it says "missing" has anybody else had this problem? i dont understand how the smog tech. can fail my smog because HE couldn't "find" the AIV. what should i do?? i tried to apply to get it BAR'd but since he put missing on the results, the car now says "TAMPERED" and consumer affairs won't help me out because of the reason it says "Tampered" so im lost. anybody know wherei can locate this "AIV" crap so i can get my car to pass smog? THANKS
how could the AIV be "missing" if EVERYTHING else passed with flying colors??
