2004 Ford Taurus Transmission problems?
I have a 2004 Ford Taurus and the transmission started slipping recently. Then 3 days ago the Check Transmission light started coming on! Any ideas what it could be and how much its gonna cost…… its a V6 and other then that in great condition. My husband want to trade it in but i only owe a couple more payments on it… is it worth keeping or should i trade it while its still running???

Make sure you check the fluid while the engine is warm and running. Next I would suggest you use a product from lucas oil called transmission fix. It really helps with transmission slipping and conditions all the seals and gears of the transmission. I had a 2000 taurus with the same problem, i used the product as was recommended by a friend, and I got about another 50,000 miles out of the transmission with no problems. If that doesnt help you are probably looking at around 1500 dollars to replace the tranny. Very good car, I would keep it for now. Hope this helps!
this is a problem with the taurus trade it while you can.
i just had my honda trans done it was 1750 yours will be around there some were thats a cheep price to pay for something payed off have you checked your fluid but if it is low you can add but it will just pro long the problemb i would call ammco trans i know it sucks but like i said beats a payment and you can get a three year warenty on it that way youll know that problemb wont come back
You failed to mention the miles and have you had it regularly serviced.Number one killer of any transmission.30K miles it sholud be serviced.
Doing so may help save it.And use "Lucus" product it works
Good luck !!!
