Take it to your nearest Ford dealer, and ask the service writer to run your VIN through OASIS to see if there are any outstanding Field Service Actions open on your vehicle, more specifically 04S12, if I remember correctly, which addresses exactly what you describe. Under this campaign, your Brake On/Off switch would be replaced with an updated switch, as well as the harness being modified to accept the updated switch. If elgible, this would be carried out FREE OF CHARGE to you. While you're there, you may as well inquire about FSA 04S17 as well, which are front spring shields for your vehicle. If you need more info, you can e-mail me.

That is why we pay BIG bucks to be trained and equipped to do the job.
Does your husband know any thing about automatic lights?
Does he have the wiring diagram? There could be a simple switch or the body computer,"GEM".
