2000 Ford Taurus idle problem can anyone help?
I have a 2000 Taurus doc. and when it idle’s it will die, when i first start it up it idle’s at about 1100 for about 20seconds then drops below 1000, then it will die, it has died on me while sitting at a stop light a few times now, i have replaced the fuel filter thinking it will fix it but it did not do much. does anyone know whats going on?

When I had an idle problem and I changed the sparkplugs and spark wires. (they are cheap ($50 for everything) and easy to do yourself if you have the tools, but a mechanic could do really really cheap.
Anyways I did that and it worked like magic, and it did not idle anymore.
One of my friends has a Taurus.
