But all you have to do to know for sure is get the17 digit VIN numbers and call the service dept and give it to them, they can run the VIN and tell you over the phone if you have it and set up an appointment, or just stop by, doesn't take long to install the recall They will find you no matter where you live, they are like the FBI lol. Once you get your notice,( Ford will send out notification letters to owners of affected vehicles ) call the dealer and make an appointment for the repair to be done. 11/02 I could not find any recall for the cruise control for a 1996 Taurus. Call your dealer with your VIN's and ask for sure. Make sure you change your address on your drivers license and registration so the BMV/DMv can notify you of safety recalls. INformation and instructions are included in the recall notice.

11/02 I could not find any recall for the cruise control for a 1996 Taurus.
