Check the vacuum hoses too. I had a car that idled very poorly and even misfired due to a dislodged vacuum hose.

probably idle air control motor, especially if there's no check engine light.

Do a KOER scan for trouble codes. I've had two KOER codes even though my check engine light wasn't on.
